Common Questions About Starting a Company in China

Clear answers on what is included in each step, what you need to provide, and how we handle the paperwork, filings, coordination, and translation support.

01

What is included in Step 1: Starter Setup?

Step 1 covers the full company setup process for foreign founders, including name approval, company registration, company chops and seals, tax setup, and corporate bank account opening support.

02

What is included in Step 2: Annual Compliance?

Step 2 covers ongoing bookkeeping, tax filings, annual reporting, compliance tracking, and routine filing support so your company stays in good standing after setup.

03

Do I have to use all three steps, or can I just start with Step 1?

You can take any step on its own. There are no lock-ins. If you only need company setup and plan to manage compliance yourself or through another provider afterwards, that is completely fine. You are free to come back for Step 2 or Step 3 whenever it makes sense for you.

04

We already have a company in China. Can you handle our compliance and annual filings under Step 2?

Yes. Step 2 is available for existing companies regardless of whether we handled your setup. If your company is already registered and you need bookkeeping, tax filings, annual reporting, and ongoing compliance managed on your behalf, we can take that on.

05

What is included in Step 3: Visa, Work Permit, and Residence Permit?

Step 3 covers document preparation, application support, filing coordination, bureau appointment handling, status follow-up, and approval workflow support for each applicant.

06

What do I need to provide as the client?

You provide the required personal details, company information, signatures, and supporting documents. We tell you what is needed, review it, and organize the process from there.

07

Do you handle the paperwork and government submissions for us?

Yes. We handle the paperwork flow end-to-end, including form preparation, filing coordination, document handoff, submission support, and follow-up with the relevant authorities and counterparties.

08

Do you help with translations and document preparation?

Yes. We help coordinate the necessary document preparation and translation requirements for setup, compliance, and permit applications so documents are ready in the format authorities expect.

09

How hands-on do we need to be during the process?

As little as possible. Your main role is to provide the required documents and confirm key details when needed. We handle the running around, coordination, paperwork tracking, and next-step guidance.

10

How long does Step 1 usually take?

A common planning estimate is around 20 business days after complete and correct documents are ready. Actual timing depends on local authority processing, bank appointments, and whether any documents need correction.

11

What usually causes delays?

Incomplete paperwork, inconsistent document details, bank scheduling delays, translation or certification issues, local policy changes, and holiday periods are the most common causes.
